LA Flea market

Another cool flea market visit!

I absolutely love flea markets, because vintage gives you great inspiration for work, and it takes you back to different time periods. Vintage in LA is great, because you can find lots of Ball room gowns and Hollywood creations! I found a few more casual pieces, that I will post shortly!
It was my first time visiting a LA flea market, and it was great. The warm makes you instantly relaxed, I guess this is the famous LA vibe! I took a few pictures, and hope that these give you an idea, of what a small LA flea market is like and the crowd!

 Lot's of small stalls!

Great interior stuff too!

 LA do have sweaters!

Lot's of boots to give you the relaxed LA look!

The flea market was hosted on the grounds of Fairfield high school, which is of Melrose Avenue. There are also lots of local vintage shops on this part of Melrose Avenue, that are fun and have great deals!

We were lucky to also get authentic Mexican soft tacos, before they were sold out, for lunch after working up an appetite from the shopping and walking.

It was a great experience, and I get why people love LA, who doesn't like warm weather, being relaxed and some cool vintage shopping!

My LA vintage flea market post is coming next!

Flee markets are a must all year around and anywhere in the world!

Find them near you!

Enjoy and Happy Holiday,

Aesop is my new sweetheart!

Fabulous face products that have won my heart!

Have you ever walked into a shop, and felt like you were in wonderland and found it really difficult to leave!

This was my experience, when I walked into the Aesop skin care shop in New York a few weeks ago!

I was first introduced to the brand, when visiting their shop in Borough Market in London with my London partner in crime Mette! We both loved the shop, and we ended up leaving the shop, with pockets full of small samples of various products! Best sales trick ever, now I'm in love with their products and couldn't imagine a day with out them!

Besides the luxury smooth feeling to the skin, I also enjoy the scent. Especially now on a dark cold winter morning, I feel, they lift me up and simply walk out the door feeling great!

My collection so far is the face cleanser, face lotion, body lotion, hand soap and hand cream.

My Aesop collection!

Aesop is an Australian company, and the name originates from the story teller Aesop. Their products are natural, and I have a feeling, that we will be together for a long time! There are endless products in their range, and I can't wait to explore them all!

Find a shop near you, they are all really well designed and worth the visit. I only have one warning, don't go, if you are not prepared to spend a little extra! The products are not cheap, but they last for a long time, and they are value for money! In Copenhagen you can get the hand lotion in Holly Golightly, which is always worth a visit, if you are in town! Most of the skin products are available on the shop's Danish website.

X-mas is around the corner and Aesop makes great gifts for both men and women, they will not disappoint you, plus the packaging design is really nice and cool!

Happy feel good x-mas skin to everyone!

Enjoy,

Alexander Wang peep toe heels

My new Black peep toe heels...

Work is taking more of my time than expected, but I finally had a chance to shop a new pair of Black heels on line, and I ended up getting a bargain on the Outnet!
They had an extra 25% off, on top of the already 50% discounted prices, so they just fit my budget...

I wanted a pair of Black heels for work and for going out, so my fashion shoe radar fell in love with an amazing pair from Alexander Wang.

A.W. is one of the coolest New York designers at then moment! I wish he was around, when I lived in the city. He has a fantastic signature style, and I love his choices of using Japanese fabrics, which I actually also buy through my job! Hopefully my next buy will be some of his clothing, which is stunning and timeless...check it out on style.com

I would wear my new Black heels with my soft Dries Van Noten dress with my Black Helmut Lang Blazer for evening or presentation at work.

For a more casual day at work I would wear them with my Black Acne jeans, Black tank top from All Saints and again Black Helmut Lang blazer! Jewellery would be my new Isabel Marant earrings!

I have worn my heels in the house already, they are so comfortable! Plus they will look trendy for many years!

Thank you Alexander and the Outnet! Bargains are as addictive as designer labels!

I couldn't resist sharing the Outnet's fun stickers, that they put on your item, making it feel like a present from yourself!

I'm happy and can't wait to wear them with my outfits out or to work very soon!

Enjoy,

New home ware from Anthropologie and Fishs Eddy

Inspiration for your home and kitchen

Since living in New York I started collecting affordable home and kitchen ware. There is a few places that are my favourites to go to and both of them are now also here in London.

My home ware collection from Anthropology

Fishs Eddy is one of them, they can now be found in Liberty, but has shops all over the US. My first shop visit was to the shop on Broadway, close to Union Square in New York. I use to think, that they were selling out kitchen ware from closed down restaurants, but reading about the company history, how the founders discovered a barn full of home ware in the US and seeing their range now, my view has changed. Now they are creating home ware with their own branding and colourfull prints, so I guess the big barn was a never ending inspiration source! The Fishs Eddy designs has a traditional US diner/restaurant feel, and what I love too, is that they have great size soup, salad and pasta bowls!

My second choice is the amazing Anthropology. They also offer affordable kitchen ware that takes you either back in time or on the other side of the world! Their shops are amazingly designed, and are all very inspiring to the entire home and your wardrobe! Prepare yourself, because you have to walk out with at least one thing! I took a few pictures of the shop on Regent Street in London, they have a growing real plant wall!

The real growing plant wall, how cool!

Shop front from Regent Street in the sunshine!

It's not unusual to have a real growing wall garden in London, but if I compare it to my garden, I much prefer my garden, where I can feel the grass under my feet!

Check out the Soho, New York Anthropology store if you are in New York, it was my first time to visit the brand, and I'm still a fan! They also sell on line!

Le Bon Marche in Paris

Another favourite shop of mine is Le Bon Marche in Paris

It's a fantastic highly creative luxury department store, and it's a great experience walking through. Besides looking at the amazing designer clothes, it's also great fun to admire the chic French Parisian women that shop there. French Parisian women do have a fantastic chic style!

I visited last week, when I was back in Paris for work, and the shop is now celebrating it's 160 year anniversary. I think it's amazing that a shop has existed that long and still manages to keep up with the high speed changes of the fashion and beauty world!

It still does have a great feeling of history and luxury, with it's clean White tile looking escalators and ceilings. I took a few pictures which also shows the creativity of the shop...

White tiles and a paper air balloon, I prefer the escalators...

Paper air plane, amazing idea how it looked 160 years ago...

It's for sure worth a visit end of the day, since they are open until 8 or 9pm.

On my way out I shopped quickly at their special anniversary shop and found some really nice metal painted plates...I also had to buy a hand sanitizer, which is essential for travelling, from Australian cosmetic brand Aesop. It's suppose to be natural and not full of harmful chemicals like other high street brands.

Beautiful plates that I bought, back ground is my Liberty table cloth!

Aesop Hand Sanitizer, amazing for travelling or in the office.

I couldn't help taking a picture of their anniversary shopping bag which has super cute illustrations.

Shopping bag, how cute!

Happy shopping in Paris...

Diamonds and vintage Rolex

Bling bling shopping in London...

London offers many neighbourhoods with specialty shops. One of them is Burlington Arcades.

It's an historic arcade from 1819 and one of the first of it's kind in London. The shops there have traded vintage jewellery and Rolex watches for many generations, and walking through gives you the feeling of being back in time.

At the end of the arcade towards Piccadilly, it starts from Bond Street, you can end your shopping with a tasty French macaroon at Laduree! Not a bad way to end your shopping for diamonds or a vintage rolex!

You can also get a proper old fashion shoe shine if you like...

It's a treat for the eye and not your wallet, unless it's a true investment, should you want to buy some bling bling...

My COS Fall 12 Collection

The Scandinavian brand COS is ready with new cool Fall items...

It's Scandinavian and good quality, so what is there not to like, also when you are Danish! It's also affordable, classic and clean design, that can be styled with almost anything!

I stopped by their shop to pick up their COS magazine, which I always pick up and highly recommend to read. It has great interviews and portrays of cool creative Scandinavians wearing COS clothes! It's great inspiration and a good way to find new fantastic Scandinavian people! As I strolled through the shop on High Street Kensington in London, I found a few items.

The T Shirt is in a great Peachy coloured mélange which will look great with skinny jeans, skirts and a suit jacket or blazer in Black, White, or Grey

I also got two pairs of socks! They are so cool! One pair is metallic and the other one is in a fine nylon, both perfect for ballerina shoes or wedges!

I also got one of the Danish brand HAY's hand made note books, which will be perfect for my next Paris Fabric fair for work! Left side is the COS magazine...

Last, I picked up new fine Grey elastic hair bands, they are good quality and don't have a metal piece that catches your hair! Plus I have never seen this nice Grey colour before in hair bands!

I thought I was happy getting the COS magazine, but now I'm even more happy leaving the shop with my new finds!

COS has great accessories among their collection, go find them now, I'm sure there are a few things, that you can't leave the shop with out!

The Big Chair Project is on and kicking, buy a lucky ticket to win a designer chair now!

Fritz Hansen and Jamie Oliver's The Better Food Foundation has paired up to auction of the famous Ant chair, decorated by famous fashion designers and artists, to raised money for the foundation.

I visited the Fritz Hansen store in Margaret Street in London and the chairs are fantastic and very playful. Here are a few pictures:

I was so impressed with the results and can't wait to hear, how much they go for! Here are some more detailed pictures from the shop:

The Burberry Stud chair by Christopher Bailey

 Barnaby Purdy art!

Waterford Crystal, the legs are made of real crystal and light up at night as a chandelier!

 Liberty, my favourite shop!

Julien McDonald, this is genius!

I also liked the video with Jamie talking about the project and his Egg chair surprise!

The chair is already famous on it's own, imagine how much they will be auctioned for decorated like this!

I can't wait to find out, if I have won a chair as well. You can still make the lottery, tickets are only £5!

Good luck to the auction...
