Danish chairs auctioned by Jamie Oliver

The Big Chair Project is on and kicking, buy a lucky ticket to win a designer chair now!

Fritz Hansen and Jamie Oliver's The Better Food Foundation has paired up to auction of the famous Ant chair, decorated by famous fashion designers and artists, to raised money for the foundation.

I visited the Fritz Hansen store in Margaret Street in London and the chairs are fantastic and very playful. Here are a few pictures:

I was so impressed with the results and can't wait to hear, how much they go for! Here are some more detailed pictures from the shop:

The Burberry Stud chair by Christopher Bailey

 Barnaby Purdy art!

Waterford Crystal, the legs are made of real crystal and light up at night as a chandelier!

 Liberty, my favourite shop!

Julien McDonald, this is genius!

I also liked the video with Jamie talking about the project and his Egg chair surprise!

The chair is already famous on it's own, imagine how much they will be auctioned for decorated like this!

I can't wait to find out, if I have won a chair as well. You can still make the lottery, tickets are only £5!

Good luck to the auction...

Dover Street Market shop

Dover Street Market in London is a must see!

This is not a regular shop, but an art and avant-garde installation fashion shop! It's owned by  the Japanese design emporium Comme des Garçons, and their playful collections are displayed on every floor.

Dover Street Market is the ultimate place for any brand or designer to be picked up and display their collections. Currently they carry special designed collections from Lavin, Chanel and Alaia just to name a few!

Their customers are among Yasmin and Simon le Bon, I know this, because I took the small elevator with the two of them years ago, and I was completely star struck! So you can imagine why this shop is famous, when the clients are famous!
It's a great visit and try to have lunch or coffee on the top floor in the small cafe. They have great healthy food and delicious cakes.

I love this shop, also because the staff are very friendly and don't treat you any different, if you only buy a pair of socks for £20! Prices in this shop, are for those who like to spend, a lot!

It's without a doubt one of a kind, and I'm always so exited to go and spend a few hours there. You never know who you are going to meet!

Dover Street Market has also opened a shop in Tokyo, Tokyo here I come...

There are also other great shops in the same street, Dover Street, such as John Rochas and soon a whole town house of McQueen!

Dover Street Market shopping bag with a gift for my husband! It's a posh shaving soap and a new hair comb...

Go Dover Street Market, a dream place for any designer brand to be, don't miss it...

Selfridges Roof Terrace

Daylesford Organic on the roof top of Selfridges...

My sister mentioned the roof top terrace cafe at Selfridges, when she visited a few weeks ago, but we didn't have the time to go. Last week the weather was just amazing, and I arranged to meet a great friend there for lunch.
It wasn't easy to find the express lift to the top, but a few signs in the perfume department and a friendly sales person got me there! Once the lift opened up, and we walked through the funny decorated hall way, it was to look like a golf course, we headed out to the roof terrace, and I found out, that it was all my favourite Organic brand Daylesford Organic that hosts the cafe! Now the experience was ten times better! Here are a few pictures to share...

In store signs for the express lift up, located in the perfume department

The Dayleford Cafe on the roof, so cosy

Salads that are growing on the roof terrace! This is what sustainable is about!

Picture I took with Instagram! Follow me, peille...

Finally lunch, British Cheese Board, yummy...

The roof top terrace doesn't start the express lift before 12.30 on the dot, so people queue up to go for lunch! It's small and cosy there, so don't get there too late, if you want to eat an early lunch! Do your shopping early before or after! It also gets hot up there, so wear sun lotion and sun glasses!

This place is on my top ten of the best London places to enjoy a great healthy meal, don't miss it...

Paris in two days

Happy Paris holiday memories...

I have been asked to share, how we experienced Paris in two days. Here is a few pictures and a great way to have an amazing family holiday.

Our hotel was in the Opera area, central and walking distance to most of the best attractions in Paris. Here is what we did:

Day 1 (afternoon and evening in Paris)

Waiting exited in the Eurostar lounge in London!

We took the Eurostar from London at 11.28 am and arrived at our hotel at 3pm. We quickly freshened up, and walked down to Galleries la Fayette which was very very busy but great shopping and sales... Here are some pictures from the Galleries...

View of the Opera from the foot bridge between the Women's and Men's Galleries la Fayette buildings

My niece and sister trying to show how huge the € 2000 bottle of Bordeaux wine is! This is the worlds largest Bordeaux wine shop and my dad was impressed!

My cute mum looking at the Opera, as we leave the men's area to the women's

We had dinner at Le Cafe Cardinal on Boulevard des Italiens on the way back to the hotel. It was typical French and fairly priced!

Day 2 (full day)

We decided to eat breakfast locally at a cafe for much less than our hotel. French people are not awake for food at 9am! We had the restaurant for our selves...

After breakfast we walked through the quiet streets to the Louvre and jumped on the Batobus that sails on the river Seine, to all the Paris tourist attractions and with the € 15.00 ticket, we could jump on and off all day until 9.30 pm! This is a great way to see Paris and get some rest between stops. Key when you are travelling with a 2 year old! Here are a few pictures from the boat:

 Eiffel Tower

Break time under the Eiffel Tower while my niece is having her nap. The park had a small play ground which  was perfect, when she woke up!

My mun and dad on the love bridge!

Each summer there are fake sand beaches a long the Seine river from around the Louvre. It looked like great fun!

We arrived back at the Louvre in the afternoon and needed a coffee...

Cafe Marley inside the Louvre has great Ice Coffee...

Famous Louvre Glass Pyramide, cafe Marley has table and chairs outside on the left! Perfect for a break and people watching!

After the coffee and Louvre, we walked down to the famous shopping street Rue St. Honore', where were saw the famous destination shop Colette, Christian Louboutin and the original House of Chanel with Coco's own design studio. We had to visit the Chanel shop in the ground floor and my mum couldn't stop herself...

I hope one day I will get my Red sole shoes!

Coco Chanels apartment and original design studio!

My mum Chanel shopping!

Family waiting for my mum!

The sign said Chanel cars! So we parked my niece there...

After a long day we walked back to the hotel and had a short break. We decided to go to a very busy French Bistro restaurant, which had the longest queue for dinner! The food and wine was fine, but the place was very noisy and hot! Not a good place to go on a hot summer night, so we quickly finished our meal and had a night cap at a outdoor cafe around the corner to cool down!

Busy French Charter restaurant which is famous and offers a good French food experience! People start queuing at 6pm and they don't open until 6.30 pm!

#
Inside the the Charter restaurant, very French and original!

Day 3 (half a day)

We had breakfast at the hotel and checked out, so that we were free to go shopping again... The only shopping area that is open on a sunday in Paris is le Champs Elysees which is fine they have great shops!

We spend the day there, until we had to go back to the Eurostar! Here is a picture of the Japanese artist Kusama which is in the Louis Vuitton window, because of their collaboration!

So tiny Kusama, I hope she is made of wax!

After this we head back to the hotel and got lucky on the way, when we passed la Laduree, which has the best French macaroons. We had to get a box for the afternoon tea back in London!

Paris was great fun and I can't wait to go back! There is so much more to see...

Enjoy,
