James Rhodes my new hero

I almost have a crush on him!

I have always been a fan of classical music but never imagined to meet anyone like him! What a talent. His life story is also proof, that we all walk around with secret dreams of doing something special in our lives, and that it's never too late to follow your dreams!

James Rhodes have really taken classical music to a new and different level and for 10 years he walked around thinking his musical talent wasn't good enough!!!

I love his story telling about the composers before he starts playing, or should I say gossip. He really knows the juicy stuff about all these geniuses. Watching James play the piano not only shows his enormous talent, but he also brings the stiff attitude of classical music down a notch, and because of his style, he is a classical rock star showing us his tattoos.

BBC interview with James

I think, he is adorable and fascinating, and I do hope to go and see him in concert one day.

One performance that I love to watch again and again is James playing Felix Blumenfeld's "Etude for left hand no. 36". I still can't believe the sound in my ears knowing it's played with only one hand!

Success is your own creation!

Antique shopping

I love old and charming stuff...

Antique shopping is a passion for me, and I can't travel anywhere before I look for something old and charming to bring back home! Here is a small selection, of what I have collected over the years from some of the best places.

One of my favourite antique shops in London is called Marshall Gallery and it's located in Brook Green on  Masbro Road, right down the street from a great London pub called the Havelock Tavern! I can strongly recommend to enjoy a meal at the pub after looking at antiques...

I recently got these Pink French antique kitchen storage jars there. They are perfect for my little rustic cottage kitchen!

I can also recommend the small antique shop inside Liberty in the furniture department. Here I bought my favourite Ball glass jars, which I had in New York before, but the wind made the curtains smash them from my windowsill! I was really pleased to be reunited with them, when I found them again at Liberty! They look adorable on the bathroom windowsill storing q-tips and cotton balls!

New York Flea markets are also great for cool and fun things. I have to admit that my favourite collected items from NYC was found on the street! Yes on the street, they are now fully cleaned and are safe in their new home! One of my street finds are these Blue glass seltzer bottles! I feel very lucky to have found them!

When I was in Copenhagen in May I found these Gold edge glasses which are perfect for a Martini or Champagne. They were £10 for 9 glasses, and I couldn't help thinking their charm would fit right in my house! I found them at a charity shop called Frelsens haer...

Portobello Road also offers lots of great things, these two wooden letter rubber stamps are just too adorable. I got them just outside one of the antique shops on Portobello Road for £3.00. I want to use them to make party invitations one day!

I love books and only have a few antique book and Magazines. These books I found in a shop, on the top end of Portobello Road by the tube station. The book stoppers are from Bruges, when we walked a long one of the canals and found a small antique market.

I'm not sure when to call something antique, 2nd hand or old! All I really look for is, that if it has charm, and if it fits in my house.

I will love it no matter what! As long as it has charm!

Enjoy,

Georgie is adorable, and I'm a big fan of her hard work and creativity. She is also my British translator and support, when I'm lost in the British culture! Jil Sander comeback

She is back...

My final project from the Royal Guild's College in Copenhagen in 1996 was a study about Jil Sander, and her amazing designs. I compared her silhouettes then, to the iconic sculptures from Giacometti.

Here is my Jil Sander "mix tape" photo album, with iconic campaign pictures from 1995 and 1996 used in my final project. This takes me back to Copenhagen being a young woman with fashion dreams...

I can't wait to see the new Jil Sander collection in September 2012, hopefully the famous silhouette is back...

Enjoy,
