A quick guide how to do Wimbledon.
I got my first amazing tips, how to do it in style, if you don't have a ticket! Just remember to have CASH (there is a cash machine at the entrance at Court 1), tickets and food and drinks can only be paid by cool cash. The nicer restaurants, shops and champagne bars do take cards!
I have lived in London for 5 years now and finally I had the opportunity to go and see tennis. Before I could never get time of work or was turned off by the expensive tickets or hours of long queueing. My day at Wimbledon was amazing and I can only advise you to go and have the same...
I have lived in London for 5 years now and finally I had the opportunity to go and see tennis. Before I could never get time of work or was turned off by the expensive tickets or hours of long queueing. My day at Wimbledon was amazing and I can only advise you to go and have the same...
1. Take the district line to South Fields and walk straight up the road from the station. There are lots of people to guide you in the right direction.
2. Get there at 10.30am there is no need to get up at the crack of dawn! Unless the weather is dry and hot! Yesterday the weather forecast was for rain but it was dry until about 5pm!
3. Go to the none ticket queueing area, staff on the side of the road walking towards the stadium will guide you, yesterday I walked through this area all by myself, there was no queue and here is a picture to proof it!
4. I bought a ground ticket for £20 after passing security. The grounds are great and fun if it's your first time at Wimbledon. I walked around for a few hours looked at all the different courts, sneaked peaked at court 2 when Serena Williams was playing!

Serena Williams is also sharing her favourite designer products on the US site called Opensky, check it out! Her style is fun...
5. After a few exiting hours of walking around the grounds, eating a sandwich while watching young players getting closer to their dreams, I decided it was time to shop!

Centre Court and Court 1 with restaurants on each floor, people are enjoying a nice meal before or after the games!

Players Club
One of the Wimbledon shops, the one below Court 1 has the best selection in sizes..
6. The shop is full of products which prices are ranging from a few pounds to several hundreds. The Polo Ralph Lauren collection are the most expensive items, but this didn't seem to stop people from buying. I had to keep it low key so just bought a few gifts. Most of the merchandise any way can be bought on line on the official Wimbledon website. A good tip for the shops is to go during a game not after, when the crowd comes out and attacks the shop! It got really busy and I had to get out quickly.
7. I wanted to sit and relax more, and so I decided to go up to Henman Hill with the large TV screen that shows the games live. Henman Hill also called Aorangi Terrace is a lot of fun. This is the crowd, who comes to have a drink and to picnic with family and friends, and just want to enjoy the tennis on a large screen hearing the crown inside the courts cheering! The atmosphere is great and fun, even when the rain came around 5pm, it didn't hold people back from sitting in the grass or on benches watching the Centre Court game under an umbrella or rain hat. Also some Pimms absolutely helps keeping you warm!
As you can see the rain is getting heavier, so decided to try and get a re-sale ticket.
8. at 17.30 and 18.30 the re-sale ticket office opens up. Here you have to queue up again, but you can get £5 or £10 tickets to Centre Court! I met up with my family again who had Court 2 tickets for the day, but they got rained out! With an umbrella, hot tea and a lot of patience my family, go Diane..., got Centre Court tickets, and we got in around 7pm to see the last half an hour of worlds no. 1 player Novac Djokovic win over Viktor Troicki. We had hoped for one more game that night but judges decided to stop for the day. Watch the video of N. Djokovic
It was an amazing feeling being inside of Centre Court and then for £10! I think it's the best first time Wimbledon experience, I could have had! The only thing I'm sad about is that my Iphone died, when I reached Centre Court! So sorry fans I don't have any pictures!!!
Just remember, if you can't get a ticket for the courts before hand, then don't give up, just get into the grounds and get in the re-sale ticket up the hill at the Henman Hill area. Your chances to get into Centre Court is high!
Wimbledon is still on until July 13th, so go for it! I had a great fun day even though it was grey and it rained at the end! Just dress very warm, bring an umbrella or buy one at the shops! Cash is important for food and drinks! I would do it again for sure...
Last picture of all my tickets. The re-sale tickets money goes to charity!
Go see the tennis!
Enjoy,
Enjoy,
Pernille
